The purpose of engine oil to lubricate and cool of any moving components in the car’s engine. 

The oil lubrication system works. Starting with the bottom with the lower oil pan, oil pan, drain plug or the crankcase. 

Basically it houses the crankshaft. Some lubrication oil as well as the oil filter on the engine block itself.

The main bearings that support the crankshaft. The engine we have an oil pump and that’s just driven by the crankshaft here to provide oil pressure on top of the old pump.

It will pick up to the oil from the oil pan sucked up through a tube. We have a screen filter go to protect it from any large particles getting sucked up in there like then it gets sucked into the oil pump 

Oil flows from the inlet of the outlet of the pump and then flows back up into the upper oil pan to be filtered and then it falls back into the block.  This is what we have inside this is when you all come from the pickup tube to the low pressure side of the pump we have two gears with the internal gear having one last tooth in the external gear on the inlet side here as this is turning you can see that the gap is slowly increasing. 

Then on the other side over here you can see that the gap is slowly decreasing and that’s going to squeeze oil between his teeth of the gear and pushing it out to the outlet.

There’s too much oil pressure built up inside it would spring loaded relief valve to take some of that high pressure oil and brings it back out to the inlet side.

Removing a bolt in the spring that the pressure valve and then here we have a little dog because a little hole in it that allows high pressure oil to escape through it and then back out this passage into the low pressure side.

Where gets filtered and then down a galley and back into the block.

 It could be really messy. To drain plug down at the bottom where we have the oil pressure switch and it basically tells the computer that the oil system is doing its job properly.

Provide enough oil pressure to lubricate all the components. The oil cooler is just like the cooling circuit.  The oil filter goes on close of the oil coole. It seems like an added on clear all comes with the front and down to the outside part of a filter. 

It goes to the oil cooler is full, exchanges with these coolant to the oil filter on the outside first and then exit through the middle and goes back up to the block.
